This Regency brass-mounted parcel-gilt black lacquered and Japanned sofa table c. 1810 has an important provenance that includes the Earl of Warwick, Warwickshire. It features a rectangular top with re-entrant corners and brass edge, with lacquer panels depicting exotic birds and flowering branches above a conforming frieze decorated with landscapes, the lyre-form trestle support on splayed legs, ends in scrolled feet on brass box casters.
